Liverpool’s preparations for the restart of the Premier League are well underway in Dubai.

They’re set to face AC Milan on Friday before heading home to face Manchester City in the Carabao Cup.

It’s arguably the toughest test they could face, but Kostas Tsimikas, speaking to the club’s website, thinks his team will be ready.

Tsimikas has enjoyed some time off like the rest of the Liverpool playing staff who weren’t at the World Cup.

The Greek international has once again been back-up to Andy Robertson this season, but has had plenty of opportunities.

He’s nearly played as many Premier League as last season already, thanks in part of Robertson picking up a knee injury.

After years of challenge for the title, qualifying for the Champions League looks set to be their main aim for this campaign.

The left-back has made the most of the mid-season break, and teammate Joe Gomez has praised his work in training.

Tsimikas has continued the positive messages being spread around squad, and talked about how much he loves playing with teammate Harvey Elliott.

The pair spent some time together on holiday last month, and Tsimikas is a big fan of the midfielder.

Tsimikas loves playing with Elliott

Speaking to the club’s official website, the 26-year-old talked about his time with Elliott and said: “We [don’t] talk that much [about] football.

“He’s a great guy. He’s my good friend here in the club, so I really enjoy every minute I’m with him and we speak [about] everything.

“I really love him as a person and, of course, as a football player.”

His impressive start to life at Anfield was cruelly put on hold after sustaining a serious injury playing against Leeds.

Elliott has since been thrown back into the first-team this season, with many of Klopp’s more senior players in his role injured.

James Milner has backed Elliott to have a big future, and the faith Klopp has showed in him suggests he believes this too.

Tsimikas admitting he loves playing with Elliott is a great sign as well.

The pair are likely to have plenty of opportunities to line up alongside each other in the future.
