Darwin Nunez put in what was perhaps his best performance of the season against Bournemouth this weekend.
The Uruguayan put in a fantastic performance against the Cherries, netting two goals in a 4-0 win.
For the first time since joining Liverpool, Nunez looked like the full package against Bournemouth, and this could be the start of something special.
Speaking on BBC 606, Chris Sutton has been discussing Nunez’s performance at the weekend, and he reckons that the striker is going to get better and better off the back of this showing.

Sutton shared his verdict on the £70m man.
“Remember when he first signed and Haaland signed and there was this great debate. Haaland has taken off and Nunez hasn’t taken off, but you feel like he’s getting there and he’s going to get better and better. He took his goals brilliantly, really positive signs for him and for Liverpool,” Sutton said.
Exciting
Nunez does seem to have a bit of confidence behind him right now, and that is very exciting for Liverpool.
Indeed, when Nunez is playing on instinct and trusts his own ability, he’s electric, it’s when he starts to overthink things that there is a problem.
If Nunez is indeed about to hit form, then this has come at the best possible time.
With Mohamed Salah out at the moment, Liverpool are desperate for their other attackers to step up, and at the weekend, both Nunez and Jota did just that.
If Nunez can carry this form through the next few games, Liverpool will have a great chance of getting through this period without Salah, and that will be huge if they are to go on and win the Premier League title this season.
Let’s hope that Nunez can kick on further and help Liverpool keep the pressure on the rest of the chasing pack.
