After a pretty incredible afternoon of football, Gary Neville was left blown away by the efforts of one Liverpool player against Manchester City.
Jurgen Klopp is probably coming away from the game wondering how his Liverpool side didn’t manage to win.

And although the likes of Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz couldn’t eventually win the game, Klopp will surely be proud of his side’s endeavours.
Liverpool still had so many players missing against an almost full strength Manchester City side, demonstrated by 21-year-old Jarell Quansah taking his place at the back.
But as it has been so many times over the years, playing at Anfield was a big factor and Liverpool did have the best of the game.
That being said, when watching the game for Sky Sports, Gary Neville almost couldn’t believe how hard Liverpool forward Luis Diaz worked against City.
And although his comment may initially seem like an insult, comparing Diaz’s display to that of a eight or nine-year-old child, Neville meant his words in the best way possible.
Gary Neville loved the energy Luis Diaz played with for Liverpool against Man City
Neville recognised an incredibly determined performance, and thought Diaz deserved a goal.
He said: “He still plays like an eight or nine year old kid. Just those three moments. He deserved a goal for his effort and endeavour.”

Some excellent chances came the way of the £50m-forward, who did everything except from tuck one away.
Diaz does deserve credit for being in those positions, but he will surely come away from the game with the slightest bit of regret.
But it’s certainly not all doom and gloom for Liverpool by any means, even if they will be thinking about those three points long into the night.
And the task for Klopp’s team will just be to keep the head down and see what happens when Arsenal soon travel to City.
That being said, Peter Drury has now shared what VAR said when Liverpool demanded a late penalty today for Jeremy Doku’s tackle on Alexis Mac Allister today.
