Gary Neville has lauded Luis Diaz after his display for Liverpool against Manchester City today.
Liverpool put in a spirited performance against the Premier League champions on Sunday but had to settle for a 1-1 draw.
After falling behind in the first half thanks to an exceptional set-piece from City, Jurgen Klopp’s side fought back after the break.
Alexis Mac Allister levelled things up from the spot and the Reds continued to create opportunities thereafter.
Luis Diaz missed three huge chances in the second half as Liverpool pushed for a winner.
And despite his lack of composure in front of goal today, Gary Neville believes the 27-year-old was exceptional in the second half.

Speaking on Sky Sports’ coverage of the game, Neville singled out Diaz for praise after the Colombian beat both Kyle Walker and Rodri down the left-hand side.
“Well he should have scored three but he’s been absolutely amazing this second half,” he said. “You don’t see many do that to Rodri and Kyle Walker, 1v1, let alone 2v1.”
“He’s been like a Duracell bunny, Luis Diaz,” Neville later added.

The £37 million man will undoubtedly be disappointed after being presented with three huge chances to win the game. But he was a constant threat off the left-hand side and never shied away from the big moments.
Today’s result doesn’t exactly benefit either side as Arsenal now lead the way in the Premier League. But you’d imagine that City will settle for a point, particularly after riding their luck in the second half.
As for Liverpool, they will be disappointed after failing to take their opportunities in the second half. Yet, you can’t help but admire their display, especially as they were without a host of key players today.
