Liverpool are about to lose Mohamed Salah for a key period of the season.
The Egyptian is heading off to the African Cup of Nations, and many are wondering who will replace Salah’s goals in this Liverpool team over the next few weeks.
Well, against Newcastle United on Monday, Diogo Jota was incredibly bright, and according to Nigel Reo-Coker, the Portuguese ace could be the man to step up for the Reds now.
Speaking on CBS, Reo-Coker says that Jota was a gamechanger against Newcastle this week, claiming that he’s now Liverpool’s best finisher after Mohamed Salah.

Reo-Coker shared his verdict on Jota.
“Yeah I think they do. I think they have good strength in depth. For me I look at Liverpool and when Diogo Jota came on he was a gamechanger, next to Mo Salah he is their most clinical finisher, he is going to be vital in this run while Salah is missing at the African Cup of Nations,” Reo-Coker said.
Should be fine
Salah leaving Liverpool for a few weeks at this point of the season is far from ideal, but if Jota can find a bit of form, they should be fine.
We mustn’t forget just how good the £40m man is when he’s on his game. He can be a patchy player, but when he’s at it, he’s clinical.
He can score big goals in big moments, and he can also go on great goalscoring runs in the same way Salah can.
Jota has scored 20 goals in a season for Liverpool in the past, and he’s almost halfway to that same mark this time around in just 19 games in all competitions.
Jota is brilliant in front of goal, and he may be about to get a real chance to show just how good he is over these next few weeks.
