With a rejuvenating win in the books, we want you to pick the Man of the Match.
It was still not the prettiest of performances against Fulham, but it was much better over all than we’ve seen in the past couple of weeks. Trent Alexander-Arnold hit a fantastic free kick to open the scoring for the Reds and hit some of his signature crossfield passes the just had your jaw on the floor with the technique. Cody Gakpo put in his second good shift in a row from the left wing, winning quite a few balls back high up the pitch with his pressing and doing well to get the ball into dangerous areas. He almost scored early in the match before eventually setting up Liverpool’s third goal to Diogo Jota. Ryan Gravenberch showed glimpses of the silky skill and athleticism in the first half before putting together a fantastic second half that saw him score the match winner with a fantastic turn and strike. Wataru Endo had a pretty meh first half, but he was stellar in the second half, winning the ball all over the pitch and doing much more ball progression after beating the press. Throughout the entire match, the Traveling Kop could be heard loud and clear serenading the squad.
Now let us know how you saw it. We’ve narrowed down the options to a few of the players we thought had the best performances for the Reds, now make your choice and vote for who you think should be the Man of the Match—or take to the comments to let us know that we got it wrong by not even including the real man of the match in the options.
And as always, a reminder that for anyone visiting on Apple News or Google AMP and looking to cast a vote who can’t see the poll, you can make it visible by navigating to the front page of The Liverpool Offside and loading the full version of the story from there.
