After months of speculation regarding who Liverpool could bring in to replace Jurgen Klopp, it looks like we have a definite front-runner for the role.

Over the past couple of days, speculation emerged involving Liverpool and Feyenoord’s Arne Slot, which has seemingly been moving quickly.

For instance, Tuesday saw multiple reports saying the Reds had made the 45-year-old their top target and that he ticked all of the club’s boxes.

The following day, TBR Football sources claimed that Liverpool had entered into talks with both Slot and with Feyenoord.

And on Thursday evening, Slot himself revealed to ESPN that he is indeed after the Anfield job and that talks are taking place.

Transfer insider Dean Jones has provided a further update regarding the state of play behind the scenes, and also who Slot is looking to bring with him from Rotterdam.

What has Dean Jones said about Arne Slot and Liverpool speculation?

Jones wrote on GiveMeSport: “From conversations I am having with people to learn about Arne Slot, many of them talk about his self-confidence.

“I think that is going to be a big factor because replacing Jurgen Klopp is no easy task and there will be big expectations.

“By all accounts, he would be expected to play entertaining football and his grounding in the game is strong. But if he actually believes he is good enough to take this job, that is also very important.

“He will be bringing his backroom team from Feyenoord with him. He has already indicated to them that he would like them to join him, so the desire for this to happen is now there on both sides.

“Once the compensation is agreed, which it should be, this will be a done deal.”

Who could Arne Slot bring to Liverpool from Feyenoord?

The official Feyenoord website contains a page listing every member of the club’s technical and medical team.

Slot has three assistant coaches, Marino Pusic, John de Wolf and Sipke Hulshoff, and Jyri Nieminen is the goalkeeping coach.

Roderick van der Ham is Feyenoord’s video analyst, Joey Klene is the cameraman video-analyse, and Frank Boer is the team manager.

The medical team consists of Stijn Vandenbroucke, Joost van der Hoek, Duncan Meuffels, Stefan van Meenen, Jasper van Kempen, Ruben Peeters, Leigh Egger, Tim Janssen and Steven Bakker.

Jesse de Vente is the Feyenoord kitman.

Should Slot get the Liverpool job, let’s see how many of them make the switch from Feyenoord to Anfield alongside the head coach.
