For the umpteenth time in recent years, City and Liverpool are the two top teams duking it out for the title, and, one again, a meeting between these two teams could be decisive.
We’ve seen City beat Liverpool to the title by one point on two separate occasions in recent years, and on both occasions, these games have been decisive.
Speaking on The Overlap, Jamie Carragher has been previewing this weekend’s game, and while he says he’s never thought Liverpool would win the league at any point this season, he says he thinks that the Reds will go on and win the title if they do win on Sunday.

Carragher shared his verdict on the Reds’ title chances.
“I haven’t but I want to ask you. Have you thought at any point this season that Liverpool will win the league? I feel as if Liverpool have to beat City at the weekend for me to sit there and go ‘Liverpool will win the league.’ And I will believe that if they go four points clear with 10 games to go,” Carragher said.
Last big hurdle
We can absolutely understand why Carragher has given this verdict.
This game against City is Liverpool’s last big hurdle this season, and if they can go four points clear with 10 games to go, it’s hard to back against them.
Yes, Liverpool do have some tough games coming up against the likes of Tottenham and Manchester United, but, let’s be honest Liverpool will head into both of those games as favourites.
This is the last big hurdle have to clear, and with a win here, you’d have to make them title favourites.
