Diogo Jota has hit a serious patch of form for Liverpool.
The Portuguese star has been utterly brilliant in recent weeks, and he showed his ability again at the weekend against Bournemouth.
Speaking on the Optus Sport Football Podcast, Mark Schwarzer has been discussing Jota’s recent run of form, and he’s admitted that he misjudged Jota when he first arrived at the club.
Schwarzer says that he raised his eyebrows when Jota first arrived at Liverpool, claiming that he didn’t expect him to be this good for the Reds, while also claiming that he’s also flying under the radar right now with his ability being underestimated by many.

The pundit shared his verdict on the £45m man.
“Another player is Diogo Jota, a player who I raised my eyebrows when Liverpool paid too much for him from Wolves. I didn’t think he’d have as much of an influence as he has had at Liverpool. Is he one of those players who flies under the radar? Are we underestimating how good he is? Schwarzer said.
One of the best around
Schwarzer is absolutely right, Jota is underrated.
The Portuguese star is genuinely one of the most lethal finishers in the Premier League, and if it weren’t for the fantastic amount of attacking talent around him at Liverpool, he’d be starting every week and scoring tons of goals.
Jota is a victim of his teammates’ success. The Reds have too many great attackers to actually build their team around Jota, but if Jota did play in a team where he was the main man in the attack, we can’t help but think that he’d be right up there in and amongst the Golden Boot contenders.
Jota is a top class player, and Liverpool are incredibly lucky to have him in their squad right now.
