‘Far too many mistakes’: Pundit says 27-year-old player could cost Liverpool against Man City

Liverpool head to the Etihad on Saturday afternoon in what should be a brilliant game between two of the best in the business.

These two titans have been the biggest rivals in English football over the past few years, and while Liverpool took a dip last season, they seem to be back to their best this time around.

This should be a tight clash between two brilliant sides, and it may well take one moment of genius or one mistake to decide the fate of this fixture.

Speaking on ESPN, Shaka Hislop has been previewing this game, and he reckons that Kostas Tsimikas could cost Liverpool in this game, claiming that he makes too many mistakes, and presents his opponents with at least one big chance per game.

Tsimikas could cost Liverpool

Hislop shared his verdict on the 27-year-old.

“The other side to that is that I mentioned Tsimikas before, I just feel that defensively Liverpool just haven’t dealt with Robertson being out and Tsimikas being in. He makes far too many mistakes for me at left-back, and he’s prone to giving the opposition one big opportunity again, and you can’t do that against Manchester City,” Hislop said.

Will be punished

Tsimikas has got away with many of the mistakes he’s made since coming into this Liverpool team, but he won’t get away with it against City.

When the likes of Erling Haaland and Phil Foden are the players trying to get the better of you, you can’t give an inch, otherwise, they will take a mile.

Tsimikas needs to have a good game against City on Saturday, because if he’s up to his usual tricks, Liverpool will face a real uphill battle at the Etihad.

The 27-year-old’s performance here could be huge in terms of deciding who will win.
