211 Arsenal have been linked with Corinthians midfield talent Gabriel Moscardo in recent days.
CaughtOffside recently reported that the Gunners are one of the potential suitors for the 18-year-old gem.
Moscardo fits the profile that Arsenal are looking for in the market and Edu is keeping him in mind, claimed the report.
Now, journalist Neil Jones has told the same outlet that Arsenal are among the most interested parties for Moscardo.
The reporter shared what he knows about Premier League interest in the teenager, saying the Gunners and Chelsea have “far more interest” than Liverpool.
“My information is that both Chelsea and Arsenal have shown far more interest in the 18-year-old than Liverpool have,” wrote Jones.
“Liverpool, generally, do not sign first-team players directly from South America.
“Their tendency in the past has been to wait and see how a talent develops once (they have) moved to Europe – think of Diaz, Firmino, Fabinho, Nunez, Mac Allister and Alisson as six great examples – before making their move when the player reaches their early-mid 20s.”
Arsenal eyeing ‘the future of Brazil’s midfield’
This is good news as far as Arsenal are concerned over Moscardo.
He’s a top talent who’s likely to have many suitors, so knowing that a big Premier League rival isn’t likely to push too hard to sign him means the Gunners stand more of a chance of signing him.
However, the Gunners could yet face fierce competition from the likes of Chelsea and Barcelona.
As per the earlier CaughtOffside report, the Blues are in “constant contact” with Moscardo’s camp, while Barca’s Deco is a big admirer of the £25million-rated youngster.
Arsenal could certainly do with bolstering their midfield ranks. Thomas Partey’s N5 future is uncertain and he sadly continues to have fitness issues. Meanwhile, Kai Havertz and Fabio Vieira are yet to truly impress.
As per journalist Ben Mattinson, Moscardo is “one of the best DM prospects in world football”.
Meanwhile, Football Talent Scout described Moscardo as “the future of Brazil’s midfield”.
All in all, he looks like a good shout for the Gunners.
