144 Andre Trindade has been linked to Liverpool for a little while now.
The Fluminense midfielder is set for a move away from Brazil in the January transfer window, and it sounds as though a switch to the Premier League beckons.
Andre is a target for the Reds, and speaking on the Aldo Meets Podcast, he’s received an endorsement from Lucas Leiva.
Lucas, of course, knows all about Andre as he spends a lot of time watching Brazilian football, and he says that he’s a fantastic talent who could be a very good signing for Liverpool.
Lucas backs Andre for Liverpool
The former Liverpool star spoke highly of the £25m man.
“He’s a very good player. I would say he’s the new modern number six you know. He’s not very big but he’s very strong. He just won the Copa Libertadores for Fluminense, a fantastic talent, he could be a good addition of course for Liverpool because it’s a position that’s really important to the team. You never know how these boys will do. I’m always very careful because I know how difficult it is to come from Brazil, he’s a fantastic player, but it depends now if the club and manager feel that his way of playing would fit the way Liverpool plays,” Lucas said.
Seal of approval
This endorsement from Lucas tells us all we need to know about Andre.
Lucas has seen and played with some of the best midfielders of all-time during his career, and if he says Andre is a top player, we’re inclined to believe him.
Of course, as Lucas says, it’s down to Liverpool to decide whether or not he’d fit their team and their system, but, by the sounds of it, this is a very talented player with a lot of upside.
Andre is certainly someone to be excited about heading into the January transfer window.
