Jurgen Klopp has announced that he’s stepping down at the end of the season, and the Reds need to now draw up a list of viable candidates who could replace the legendary gaffer.
As you can imagine, every promising manager in Europe is being linked with a move to Liverpool right now, and Roberto De Zerbi’s name has done the rounds.
The Italian has done a brilliant job at Brighton over the past 12 months, and many believe that he’s ready to make the next step in his career.
De Zerbi is certainly a highly-rated manager, but don’t just take our word for it.
Indeed, De Zerbi has had rave reviews from many experts within the game, and one man who’s opinion holds ground with a lot of Liverpool fans, James Milner, is a huge fan of the Italian.

Milner has been there and seen it all in this game. He’s worked under countless different managers for club and country, and if he’s saying that De Zerbi has something special about him, he could well be good enough for Liverpool.
Of course, that step up from Brighton to the top level is massive – just ask Graham Potter about that, but based on his style of play and his CV to date, De Zerbi could be a good pick for the Reds.
