150 Micah Richards has labelled Liverpool’s Alisson Becker as one of the very best goalkeepers around.
Speaking on the BBC Match of the Day Top 10 Podcast, the pundit was tasked with ranking the 10 worst goalkeeping mistakes in Premier League history, but aside from the gaffes, he took some time to appreciate the art of goalkeeping.
Richards, of course, is a huge fan of Manchester City’s Ederson, but he was also quick to note that he believes Alisson is up there with the very best in the world at the moment too.
Alisson is one of the best
Richards was full of praise for the £63m Liverpool ace.
“He’s one of the best if not the best. Although Alisson is up there with shot stopping, Ederson is the best on the ball, but Ederson is the best on the ball, they are both extraordinary, they are both top” Richards said.
One of the best ever
Alisson isn’t just one of the best around today, he’s one of the best goalkeepers of all-time at this point.
He does everything brilliantly. He’s a great leader at the back, he’s a fantastic shot stopper and he’s incredible with his feet.
In this day and age, it’s so tough for a goalkeeper to be the full package due to the huge demands that are put on modern goalies, but Alisson is as close as you will get to being perfect between the sticks.
Liverpool are so lucky to have the Brazilian, and they will be hoping that he’s back from his hamstring injury very soon to help the Reds in their current quest to win the Premier League title.
As Richards says, Alisson is one of the best around, and he will have a huge part to play if Liverpool are to win the league this year.
