Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister has shared an update on his injury after limping off the pitch against Sheffield United last night.
The Reds were made to work hard by Chris Wilder’s men, but they got the job done thanks to goals from Virgil van Dijk and Dominik Szoboszlai. Mac Allister’s injury, however, has been a big concern since he left the pitch.

Alexis Mac Allister joined Liverpool in the summer, and he has been a brilliant player for them.
The 24-year-old, who won the World Cup with Argentina last year, has been used a lot in the base of the midfield, but he played in a more advanced role last night.
Mac Allister did play well, but in the first half, he was on the end of a poor tackle. The Argentine was in a lot of pain, but he managed to get back up and finish the half after some treatment.
Jurgen Klopp revealed that Mac Allister got stitches to close his wound at half-time, but he couldn’t move after about 15 minutes into the second half. So, the Reds boss had to take him off, and Liverpool fans have been extremely concerned about the midfielder since.
Mac Allister has now taken to Instagram to address his injury, and he has claimed that ‘everything’s fine’, which suggests he isn’t actually injured. That is great news.
He wrote: “Everything’s fine. I got a few stitches, but I’ll bounce back soon. We keep going. Come on, @liverpoolfc!”
Good news for Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp
Liverpool just don’t need more injuries ahead of the busy festive period this month.
The Reds already have Alisson Becker, Andy Robertson and Diogo Jota injured, while Jurgen Klopp confirmed last night that Joel Matip will be out for a long time due to a ruptured ACL.
The last thing they would’ve wanted was to see Mac Allister sidelined too, but the Argentine’s update on Instagram suggests he is fine and not injured.
It will be interesting to see if Klopp will give him a break against Crystal Palace this weekend, just to be safe.
