Composure was the order of the day on Sunday when Liverpool faced Manchester City.
Alexis Mac Allister kept his composure to score the equalising penalty, Ederson lost his composure when he clattered Darwin Nunez in the box, while Michael Oliver had his composure tested with a last minute penalty call.
Indeed, this game was all about who could keep their nerve in the big moments, and one Liverpool player failed to do just that time and time again.
Luis Diaz had numerous big chances to go and score against City, but, frustratingly, the Ecuadorian failed to capitalise on any of these chances.
Speaking on Premier League Productions, Darren Bent has been discussing Diaz’s performance against City, and he says that while he was superb on Sunday, he noted that he continuously lost his composure in the big moments.

Bent spoke about the £45m man.
“Up until that last little bit I thought he was superb. He carried the ball well and he was an outlet on the counter attack, but that last little bit where you have to show composure, he lost it every single time.” Bent said.
Difficult
Bent is right, Diaz did lack composure in the big moments, but it’s hard not to sympathise with the winger.
Indeed, it’s tough to stay composed in these big games at the best of times, but when you have a player like Kyle Walker breathing down your neck all afternoon, it’s twice as hard.
Diaz may have felt he had to rush all of his actions as he had one of the fastest defenders in the game chasing him down all afternoon, and that’s not an easy spot to be in.
Diaz should’ve done better with his chances, but like anything in professional football, that’s much easier said than done.
