Gary Lineker believes Bayer Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso could end up replacing Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool in the future.
Lineker has been speaking on The Rest Is Football podcast and suggested Alonso could be in line for a huge job soon.
The Spaniard is doing an exceptional job at Leverkusen and currently has them sitting top of the Bundesliga.

And Lineker can see the 41-year-old ending up at either Real Madrid or Liverpool in the future.
Lineker backs Alonso to replace Klopp
Speaking on The Rest Is Football, Lineker backed Alonso to replace Carlo Ancelotti at Madrid or even take over from Jurgen Klopp once his time is up at Liverpool.
“I would think there is every chance that once Carlo Ancelotti walks away or is pushed out, as is often the case at Real Madrid, he might end up there as manager of a certain Jude Bellingham,” he said.
“Or he could also possibly follow Klopp down the line. These things you always do!”

But it seems unlikely the 41-year-old will get an opportunity at Anfield anytime soon.
Klopp seems committed to overseeing yet another rebuild at Liverpool and it would be a huge surprise to see the German depart shortly.
The Reds have also enjoyed a promising start to the season under Klopp despite the 1-1 draw at Luton Town yesterday.
Liverpool seem to be slowly getting back to their best under the German’s guidance and are once again building a fantastic side.
