Clinton Morrison expressed his disbelief at what one Liverpool star did 10 minutes into the second-half against Manchester United on Sunday, with the Reds looking to go back in front.
While the marquee games can often disappoint, Manchester United against Liverpool at Old Trafford absolutely delivered for the neutrals.
It was chaotic and frenetic; promised brilliance and was imperfectly perfect. Liverpool absolutely blew the home side away in the first-half, but only took a 1-0 lead into the break.
Every Liverpool supporter could have seen what would happen next. Bruno Fernandes would equalise at the start of the second-half with United’s first strike on goal. It came from 40 yards after a mistake from Jarell Quansah.
Liverpool should have struck back almost immediately. The Reds had the chance to launch a five on two counter attack.
Pundit left in disbelief after Liverpool star’s error
The visitors did superbly to carve a chance out for Darwin Nunez at the far post. However, the Uruguayan appeared to be caught in two minds, neither having a particularly good attempt at goal or creating a chance for Dominik Szoboszlai.
And speaking on BBC Radio Five Live, Clinton Morrison could not believe that Nunez did not do better with the opportunity.

“But that’s how the game can change just like that. Man United dominating and give the ball away. And Liverpool can just break. In the end, Nunez just makes the wrong decision. Should either be going for goal or cutting it back to Szoboszlai.”
Reds should have left the game in no doubt after first-half
Nunez’s display summed up Liverpool on such an agonising day for the Reds.
The 24-year-old provided the assist for the opening goal of the game, flicking the ball into the path of Luis Diaz.
But he got into so many good positions throughout the game. He did come close in the first-half, curling a shot just over the bar. However, he more often than not lacked the composure which was needed.
Liverpool had the game in their grasp during the first-half. They will be wondering how exactly they did not secure another big win over United.
