Dominic Solanke and Ian Rush have both applauded Joe Gomez after his display for Liverpool on Sunday.
The Reds picked up their first piece of silverware of the campaign after a 1-0 win over Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final.
Despite being hit with injures to several key players, Jurgen Klopp’s side secured a dramatic late winner in extra-time thanks to a Virgil van Dijk header.
Liverpool were without the likes of Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota and Dominik Szoboszlai.
Klopp was even forced into a change in the first half after Ryan Gravenberch picked up an ankle injury, which led to Joe Gomez replacing the Dutchman.
Nevertheless, Liverpool rallied through the setbacks to secure a memorable win at Wembley and Gomez impressed at right-back.

Gravenberch’s injury saw Conor Bradley move further up the pitch, with Gomez slotting in for the youngster.
The 26-year-old has barely put a foot wrong this season and his versatility is a huge asset for Klopp. It’s no real surprise to see him earn praise from a Liverpool legend, Rush, and one of his former teammates Solanke.

Liverpool were hit with significant injuries to key players and had several youngsters out on the pitch in extra time.
But Klopp’s young side played with no fear and deservedly found a winner through Van Dijk after the Dutchman had a goal ruled out in the second half.
