Liverpool beat LASK 4-0 in the Europa League last night, and young Jarell Quansah’s performance seems to have impressed Virgil van Dijk and Conor Bradley.
Jurgen Klopp‘s men were the favourites to win the game, and they did that comfortably. Goals from Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz combined with a brace from Cody Gakpo sealed the clash, but Quansah was the one who caught our eye.
Conor Bradley and Virgil van Dijk impressed by Liverpool’s Jarell Quansah
Jarell Quansah started for Liverpool in Virgil van Dijk‘s place at the back, and he had a solid game.
No neutral fan had really heard about the 20-year-old before the start of this season, but his performances have been excellent for his age.
Liverpool always looked like they were going to win last night, but there were a few tricky moments at the back. Caoimhin Kelleher did well when he was called upon, as did young Quansah on more than one occasion.
Jurgen Klopp went as far as saying Quansah ‘saved’ Liverpool’s last night, which is a massive compliment for the talented young central defender.
After the game last night, Quansah took to Instagram to celebrate the win.
Van Dijk replied with a clapping emoji, while fellow youngster Conor Bradley commented: “Different class!”
Harvey Elliott was also impressed and wrote: “Quality bro!”

Liverpool had to spend a lot of money on Virgil van Dijk almost six years ago, and the Dutchman has proved to be worth every penny.
However, the Netherlands international is 32 already, and even though he has a few years left at the top level, Liverpool should be thinking of his long-term successor.
All the top centre-halves in the world will cost a fortune, but Liverpool can replace Van Dijk without spending a penny thanks to Jarell Quansah.
Jurgen Klopp has already branded him as ‘Virgil 2.0 reloaded‘, and we don’t see why the 20-year-old can’t go on and have a career as successful as Van Dijk’s over the next decade.
