Diaz Spotted in Colombia Training Amidst Injury Concern

The winger had a groin issue after the United game.

After Liverpool FC’s dramatic 4-3 extra-time defeat to Manchester United in the FA Cup over the weekend, manager Jürgen Klopp mentioned three injury concerns in his post-game comments:

“Now, the boys go on international duty. We hope they come back healthy.”

“Lucho felt his groin, Darwin [his] hamstring and Cody twisted his ankle. They play again in four or five days, it’s crazy.”

Darwin Núñez has since dropped out of Uruguay’s squad, while Cody Gakpo has travelled to the Netherlands camp.

Luis Diaz played 114 of the 120 minutes on Sunday and has been spotted in Colombia’s training camp.

According to Colombian outlet Noticias Caracol, Diaz did recovery work in the gym while others in the squad participated in an outdoor training session.

With the games this international break primarily being friendlies, it’ll be a good time for the international managers to experiment and look at players they haven’t tried in their setups yet. There’s hope that our players won’t be pushed hard.
