Darwin Nunez is surely delighted by one rumour now emerging from Liverpool.
There is a lot to unpack at Anfield right now amid the drama of a Premier League title race, and Jurgen Klopp preparing to depart after nine successful years on Merseyside.
Things have only become more dramatic after Sunday’s chaotic 2-2 draw against Manchester United, where the German quite visibly snapped and Liverpool were made to pay for wasteful finishing.
Nevertheless, a positive rumour is now emerging from Liverpool – one we think Darwin Nunez will be very encouraged by…
Darwin Nunez must be excited about rumour coming from Liverpool
Well, the Uruguay international has enjoyed a much improved second season at Liverpool.
Nunez registered 19 goal involvements in 42 appearances during his debut campaign at Anfield, netting 15 goals while also providing four assists.
The South American has been far more involved this season, scoring 18 goals while also providing 13 assists as he becomes a more prolific goalscorer as well as a stronger creator.

Florian Plettenburg of Sky Germany believes a verbal agreement has been reached, with other sources claiming that the man from Lisbon is keen to take the job instead of replacing Xavi at Barcelona.
In our view, Nunez will be buzzing about that appointment if it happens.
Ruben Amorim could transform Uruguay international
Why? Well – firstly – Amorim has emphatically proven that he can get the best out of a physical No.9 this season through his work with Viktor Gyokeres.
The Swede arrived in Lisbon from Coventry for £20m back in July 2023 after a strong 2022/23 campaign in the Championship, scoring 21 goals and assisting a further ten in 46 appearances.
However, Amorim has developed Gyokeres into one of Europe’s best strikers, with the Sporting CP No.9 currently sitting on 36 goals and 15 assists in just 42 games this term – Arsenal are now very keen to sign him.

It means the Portuguese tactician will have done plenty of research on the Liverpool No.9’s qualities and studied his playing style meticulously – for what it’s worth, the Uruguayan scored once and assisted another in these four games, helping Benfica secure two wins.
That homework – coupled with what we’re seeing Amorim do with Gyokeres – suggests Nunez could well be the biggest winner of Amorim replacing Klopp, in our view at least.
