The player has not been able to get going due to an injury.

Liverpool FC striker Jayden Danns went on loan to Championship side Sunderland in January. After the clubs detected an injury during the transfer process, it was decided that Danns would complete his recuperation at Liverpool — and with only a handful of games left in the Championship season, he’s still not even training with Sunderland.

The move was still completed with the hope that Danns would be able to contribute in the latter half of the season for the Black Cats, but that hope is fading quickly.

Speaking to The Northern Echo, manager Régis Le Bris has admitted that time is running out for the forward:

”We are not at this point right now, but the season is running, so it will be difficult. We don’t know exactly.”

Despite Danns’ unavailability, Sunderland have actually coped well in his absence, staying in the mix for the playoffs with Wilson Isidor and Eliezer Mayenda leading the line. Perhaps due to that and the player’s relative youth, there has been no rush to push Danns back into the mix.
