Liverpool are enjoying a pretty solid season, having won the Carabao Cup and remaining firmly in the running for the Premier League and Europa League.
Although Jurgen Klopp’s Reds didn’t win at Manchester United on Sunday, their 2-2 draw keeps them just one point off the Premier League summit.
What makes Liverpool’s season even more remarkable is the fact that they’ve endured several injury crises which have kept numerous top players on the sidelines.
Under Klopp, the Reds have put a lot of work into their academy, and as a result, it has produced plenty of top talents that have stepped up when called upon.
In recent years, Liverpool have been arguably the best club in the country when it comes to producing young stars.
The likes of Alexander-Arnold, Curtis Jones, Jarell Quansah and Harvey Elliott have all become established first-teamers under Klopp.
Now, another Liverpool talent has achieved an exciting milestone in signing a new contract at Anfield.

The player in question is 19-year-old left-back Calum Scanlon, who joined the Reds from Birmingham City in February 2021.
Scanlon penned his first professional contract in March 2022, and since then he has gone from strength to strength in the Liverpool ranks.
The youngster – currently recovering from injury – has made 15 appearances for the Reds this season, of which two have been with Klopp’s first-team.
This included his Liverpool debut, which came at Anfield against French outfit Toulouse in the Europa League in October.
Scanlon took to Instagram to express his delight at signing a new deal with Liverpool.
“Buzzing to sign a new contract with this amazing club. Can’t wait to get back on the grass,” he wrote.
Plenty of Liverpool fans congratulated him, as did some of his peers.
For instance, Curtis Jones wrote “congrats bro”, with emojis of a flexed bicep and a heart.
Jayden Danns, Luke Chambers, Lewis Koumas, James McConnell and Trey Nyoni also wished Scanlon well.
It’s always great to see an academy player achieve a new milestone in his career, such as a new contract in Scanlon’s case.
This shows Liverpool have a lot of faith in him, and hopefully he’ll kick on and become a regular first-teamer in years to come, perhaps after an EFL loan.
