Liverpool academy graduate Paul Glatzel has swapped Anfield for Swindon Town in a permanent deal.
The 22-year-old has ended a 13-year association with the Reds, who he joined at Under-9 level before rising through the ranks.
On Friday, Liverpool confirmed on their official website that Glatzel had joined Swindon, who are currently 15th in the League Two table.
The player himself took to Instagram with a heartfelt message for the Anfield outfit and everyone connected with the club.
Plenty of his peers, including the likes of Curtis Jones, Caoimhin Kelleher and Conor Bradley, wished him all the best on the next chapter of his career and life.
Paul Glatzel looks to get senior career under way at Swindon after Liverpool exit
Glatzel made a name for himself at Liverpool as he rose through the ranks at Kirkby, becoming one of the top talents in the academy.
He captained the Liverpool Under-18s in 2018-19 and scored 28 goals that season, helping the young Reds win the FA Youth Cup.
Glatzel caught Jurgen Klopp’s eye and featured in pre-season, but sadly he suffered an ACL injury during a friendly that summer and was out for 10 months.
In recent years, he has represented the Reds’ Under-21s – netting five goals this term – and had two loan spells with Tranmere Rovers.
Glatzel will now look to get his senior career properly underway at the County Ground, linking up with several other Liverpool academy graduates.
Tom Brewitt, Jake Cain and Tom Clayton all came through the ranks at Kirkby and now play for the Wiltshire-based outfit.
Swindon are next in League Two action on Saturday, when they head to Crewe Alexandra in a 3pm kickoff.
