David James has suggested the manager Liverpool should try to get as Jurgen Klopp’s replacement at the end of the season.
The former Liverpool goalkeeper believes that Edin Terzic of Borussia Dortmund would be a good fit for the Reds.
So, what has David James said about Liverpool and Edin Terzic? Let’s take a look.
Jurgen Klopp is leaving Liverpool
Well, Liverpool announced today that Jurgen Klopp will step down as the manager of the first team at the end of the season.
Klopp has said that he is running out of energy. The German has been in charge of Liverpool since 2015.
During his time at Anfield so far, Klopp has won the Premier League, the FA Cup, the EFL Cup and the UEFA Champions League.
Liverpool could end up winning the Premier League, the UEFA Europa League, the FA Cup and the EFL Cup this season.
David James suggests Edin Terzic as new Liverpool manager
Liverpool knew about Klopp’s decision to step down back in November, so I would suspect that FSG are already on the hunt for a replacement.
Former Liverpool and Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso has been strongly linked. He is in charge of Bayer Leverkusen at the moment and could lead them to the Bundesliga title this season.

James said on Sky Sports News (11:47 am, January 26, 2024): “If I can, Dortmund and Edin Terzic the manager there. I mean, that could be an option.
“He has done a fantastic job at Dortmund. Jurgen Klopp coming from Dortmund, there seems to be a nice bit of synergy there, but I think for Liverpool, they would already have a list of managers they are keeping their eye on which they have done for the last couple of years, and they will be pursuing those managers now to see what their options are. They may be people we have not talked about.”
Edin Terzic worked under Jurgen Klopp when the latter was in charge of Borussia Dortmund. He worked as a scout and assistant coach in the youth academy and reported to Klopp.
Terzic worked as a coach at Besiktas and West Ham United before returning to Dortmund in 2018 as an assistant coach.
The 41-year-old is now the head coach of Dortmund, who are aiming to finish in the top four of the Bundesliga table this season.
