Liverpool academy forward Jayden Danns has signed a new long-term at Anfield following his impressive senior breakthrough.

The 18-year-old has come to the fore in the Liverpool first team over the past few weeks after an amazing campaign at youth level for the Reds.

As per Transfermarkt, Danns has 16 goals and four assists from just 17 outings across the Under-18 Premier League, the FA Youth Cup, Premier League 2 and the EFL Trophy.

Danns made his Liverpool senior debut as a substitute against Luton Town in the Premier League last month and then helped the Reds win the Carabao Cup final at Wembley.

Even more memorably, Klopp brought him off the bench in the FA Cup fifth-round meeting with Southampton, and he rewarded the Reds boss’ faith with a brace.

Now, Danns’ year has got even better as he commits his future to the Anfield outfit, and has earned praise from the likes of Liverpool coach John Achterberg.

Liverpool’s Instagram page shared news of Danns’ new contract, and Achterberg took to the comments section to write: “Congratulations”.

Liverpool ace Jayden Danns ‘like an experienced pro’

It’s always great to see an academy talent get his big break at his boyhood club’s senior team, make a name for himself, and then earn a new long-term contract.

We’ve had plenty of those in recent years at Liverpool, and Danns is just the latest. Hopefully this is just the start of a very fruitful career at Anfield for the ‘amazing‘ forward.

Danns has already received huge praise from one of the most iconic English strikers of all time, namely Ian Wright.

“You look at the young players that came on, even Danns, I’ve not seen too much of him. Heard his name before,” Wright said on his Wrighty’s House podcast, as per TEAMtalk.

“But he came on in that final like an experienced pro the way he played, the way he held the ball, he didn’t look like he was in awe of anything. He was just in and ready to go.

“And that is something to do with the aura of Liverpool and what they expect from a player that can come on and, ‘this is fine, this is what we’re about’. I envy them for that.”
