Ajax are reportedly showing concrete interest in signing Jordan Henderson just a few months after the England international left Liverpool.
The 33-year-old made the controversial decision last summer to swap Merseyside for Saudi Arabia, with Henderson joining Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq in a £12m deal.
Since leaving, though, things seemingly haven’t gone to plan for Henderson in the Middle East, with a move back to the Premier League now reportedly on the cards.

Recently lauded by Gerrard as a ‘fantastic’ player, Henderson returning to Europe so soon after leaving for Saudi Arabia would be quite an embarrassment for the England international.
However, Ajax could represent a good opportunity for the former Liverpool captain, who could thrive in the Netherlands with one of the biggest clubs on the continent.
Ajax could be ideal for Jordan Henderson to reset his career

The England international’s reputation has taken a massive hit since his decision to move to the Middle East, yet Ajax could be an ideal platform for Henderson to get his career back on track.
As we know, the Dutch giants have fallen on hard times this season, with Ajax currently sat in fifth place and trailing league leaders PSV Eindhoven by an outrageous 23 points.
Whilst a league title is unlikely, Henderson would bring leadership and stability to Ajax’s squad, and a move this January could be ideal for all parties involved.
