'Coming back': John Obi Mikel says £34m Liverpool player is looking way more dangerous this season

Liverpool have had a bad week losing to Toulouse and dropping points to Luton Town, but that shouldn’t take away from what has been a fantastic start to the season.

Indeed, the Reds have still only lost one game in the Premier League so far this season, and they look to be getting back to something close to their best.

Their midfield looks revamped, and their star players are returning to form, and perhaps nobody represents that more than Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian had a quiet season last time around by his standards, failing to hit 20 league goals for Liverpool for just the second time since arriving at Anfield, but now, he looks back to his best.

Speaking on the Obi One Podcast, John Obi Mikel has touched on Salah’s resurgence, and he believes that the £34m man is looking a lot more dangerous this season.

Salah back to his best

Mikel spoke about the Egyptian.

“No disrespect to these players. Erling Haaland is doing amazingly well, scoring goals. Salah is bang on it, it looks like he’s coming back to his old Salah, he’s scoring goals now, you can see his movement is a lot sharper, but yeah, we have to give it to Rodri,” Mikel said.

Best season yet?

Salah has been utterly brilliant for Liverpool this term, and he could be on course for his best season yet.

Eight goals and four assists after 11 games is a truly amazing return, and if he keeps up this sort of running rate for the rest of the season, he could surpass some of his own personal best tallies.

Of course, that is much easier said than done, but we certainly wouldn’t back against Salah scoring 30 Premier League goals this season and winning another Playmaker award as well.

Salah could well be in the middle of what ends up being his best ever season for Liverpool.
