We’re heading towards the end of the season, and that means it’s almost time to start discussing the Team of the Year.
We’ve seen a number of incredible performances in the Premier League this term, and picking a Team of the Year won’t be easy.
There are certain players who are a shoo-in this term such as Phil Foden and Declan Rice, but other positions are very much up for grabs.
Speaking to the PFA, Bristol City striker, Tommy Conway, has been discussing the Team of the Year, and he’s been ranking some players who have previously featured in these teams.
Conway was tasked with ranking some greats from Premier League history for a TikTok challenge, and he made a rather interesting claim about a current Liverpool player.

Conway was tasked with ranking a number of players who had previously been in the Premier League Team of the Year, and he reserved some special praise for Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Indeed, Conway put Alexander-Arnold up there with some of the best around, putting him ahead of the likes of Yaya Toure and Jack Wilshere in his ranking system.
Trent Alexander-Arnold vs Yaya Toure
Trent Alexander-Arnold and Yaya Toure are two wildly different players, and it’s interesting to compare the two.
Toure was undoubtedly one of the best players in the world at his peak, while Alexander-Arnold is also in that mix right now.
For our money, Toure just about edges this debate. The midfielder was unplayable during the 2013/14 season in a way that perhaps no other Premier League player ever has been.
Alexander-Arnold, of course, has plenty of time on his side to secure his legacy and perhaps overtake players such as Toure in the future, but, for now, we’re siding with the Ivorian in this debate, even though the two players are largely incomparable due to their differing styles and positions.
