Jamie Carragher has backed Darwin Nunez to come good at Liverpool after his big-money move from Benfica this summer.
Nunez got off to a good start in the Community Shield and scored as a substitute against Fulham on his Premier League debut.
But then he got a red card against Crystal Palace, taking him out of the team and Liverpool have struggled as a collective too.
But in the Daily Mail, Carragher said he’d hate to play against the 23-year-old and says it is just a case of the Reds getting used to their new frontman.

He said: “I would have found him a handful. I think anyone would. It is just where Liverpool can have that connection with him, But the size, the pace, the power of him, he has a great goal-scoring record, you don’t want to be coming up against him too often.
“It has been really stop-start for him. Obviously the sending off was unfortunate and coming on at different times and trying to get up to speed with the rest of the team. But also getting used to the new team as well.
‘He is completely different to what Liverpool had before in terms of Roberto Firmino. He is a completely different profile of player. He looks raw but there is no doubt there are some great physical attributes. He causes big problems for the opposition.
“It is just the next five or six weeks we will see that integration a lot more. It will be a lot easier then to judge whether he is the right fit, because now he has just not played enough football for the team.”
Obviously, the pressure on Nunez is ramped up by how well Erling Haaland is doing at Manchester City, where he has taken to life in the Premier League incredibly well.
But it does sometimes take new signings time to adjust and it would help Nunez if he was coming into a Liverpool team operating at full pelt.
He now does not have a chance to get on the scoresheet until October, but the games will come thick and fast then, as Liverpool look to put a run of form together.
