Liverpool’s cup defence begins at home.
Your reigning, defending Carabao Cup champions, Liverpool FC, have been drawn to face West Ham United at home in their first fixture in the third round of the competition.
The tie is one of three all-Premier League encounters, with Everton facing Southampton at Goodison Park and Brighton hosting Wolves at Amex Stadium.
Two non-Premier League teams will have huge tasks ahead of them. AFC Wimbledon stunned Premier League Ipswich on penalties in the second round to book their spot. They will now play host to Newcastle United. League Two side Barrow, in the third round for the first time since 1967-68, will take a trip to Stamford Bridge to face 2024 runners-up and home for unwanted footballers Chelsea.
For the rest of the field, Arsenal faces Bolton Wanderers at Emirates Stadium, while Manchester United welcomes Barnsley to Old Trafford. Manchester City will take on Championship Watford at Etihad Stadium, and finally, Aston Villa and Tottenham have been handed trips to Wycombe and Coventry, respectively.
Ties will take place between 16 and 23 September, and Champions League and Europa League fixtures are also scheduled during this period.
