Liverpool travel to Ashton Gate to take on Bristol City in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Bristol City Women vs. Liverpool FC Women
Sunday, January 14th
FA Cup | Ashton Gate
1:00PM BST/8:00AM EST
Liverpool Women take on Bristol City in the fourth round of the FA Cup. The Reds last faced the Robins only a month ago in the league. In that game, they drew 1-1. This time they’ll be looking to advance in the tournament and keep their hopes of a trophy this season alive.
Meanwhile, Bristol City are at the bottom of the WSL table at the moment. The FA Cup will not be their first priority, but gaining some momentum going into the return of league play is important to Lauren Smith and her team.
Gemma Bonner has returned to full training after recovering from her concussion scare against Manchester United before the break. The only Liverpool player unavailable on Sunday will be Yana Daniels.
Standard Chartered’s Liverpool Player of the Month, new recruit Sophie Roman Haug thoroughly earned her trophy last month. In December, she scored two of the Reds’ five goals, including the one against Bristol City last time. Look for her to play a big role in the start of the new year as well.

What the Managers Had to Say
Matt Beard: “As we found out when we played Bristol City at Prenton Park recently, this will be a tough game. I’ve been impressed with them. They have settled into the WSL really quickly, they had a tough start but they have produced some good performances.”
Lauren Smith: “A good performance or result on Sunday could lead straight into the next game. It’s all focus for this week, we want to win every game that we are in. We are going to give it a good go.”
