‘Bring the money’: Michail Antonio reacts after being told Liverpool want to sign £22m West Ham player

Jarrod Bowen is said to be a target for Liverpool.

The West Ham winger has been linked with the Reds for quite some time now, and Jurgen Klopp only added fuel to that fire this week.

Indeed, Klopp stated before the game against West Ham this week that Bowen is his favourite non-Liverpool player in the Premier League, and that’s led to all sorts of speculation.

Inevitably, Michail Antonio was asked about the idea of Bowen heading to Liverpool on the Footballer’s Football Podcast, and Antonio has given his reaction.

Antonio reacts to Bowen to Liverpool suggestion

Antonio shared his verdict on the idea of the £22m player going to Liverpool.

“Jurgen Klopp said before the game that Jarrod Bowen is his favourite player in the league other than his own players. I think he’s trying to lay those seeds man, he wants Jarrod,” The host said.

“He can lay the seeds all he likes mate. The man has just signed a seven year deal bro, if he wants that, he can bring the money,” Antonio said.

“Who’s he going to replace, obviously he plays on the right? Are you hinting at something here? Are you letting Salah go yeah?”

Won’t be cheap

As Antonio says, if Liverpool want to sign Bowen, they’ll have to turn up to the London Stadium with a huge sack of cash.

Bowen is tied to West Ham for the foreseeable future, he’s one of their most important players, and West Ham don’t need to sell.

As we saw over the summer with the Declan Rice deal, the Hammers won’t be bullied by the big clubs, they’ll hold out for the right fee and sell only when it suits them.

If Liverpool do want to bring Bowen in to eventually replace Salah, they will need to put their hands in their pockets and shell out some serious dough.
