Liverpool and Aston Villa played out an utterly bonkers game at Villa Park tonight which ended in a 3-3 draw and Andy Townsend was impressed by one Liverpool star.
Jurgen Klopp’s side had got themselves into a 3-1 lead and looked to be cruising before the subs had a huge impact on the game.
Klopp made four at once in the second half while Unai Emery threw Jhon Duran on to help change the game. And it was Duran who got the two goals that made it level, in a crazy five minute spell on Monday Night Football.
For Liverpool, it was another disappointing performance that saw them have enough of the game to win before throwing away a winning position.
But while the frustration was there, Liverpool’s players did produce some good moments in the game, including a stunning header from young defender Jarrell Quansah.
And one former Villa midfielder, Andy Townsend, was full of praise for the youngster’s effort.

Speaking on the game for Premier League Productions, Townsend was impressed by what he saw from Quansah as he netted a fine header at the back post.
“Totally unmarked, Lucas Digne is slow to react again. He’s got a free run Jarell Quansah, but having got there, he hangs in the air brilliantly.
“He’s doing everything he can to keep that under the bar, steers it perfectly into the far corner, that’s a brilliant header,” Townsend said.
More to come from Quansah in a Liverpool shirt
While fans will miss Jurgen Klopp and what he brings to the team, the legacy he is leaving behind cannot be underestimated and young defender Quansah is part of that legacy.
Quansah has looked every bit the assured Premier League defender this season and it speaks volumes that he is often selected ahead of the likes of Ibou Konate and Joe Gomez has had to make do with a place at full-back all season.
At 21, Quansah has bags of potential and time to fulfil that potential.
His goal tonight was a nice moment for him in what has been a big season for the young defender and going into next term, Quansah might just save Liverpool a few million.
