Liverpool and Feyenoord have agreed to terms for the manager to leave the Netherlands for Merseyside. Welkom Arne!
The worst kept secret in football has finally officially been announced. Liverpool FC today have formally announced Arne Slot as the new head coach (no, not manager) of the club on a three year deal.
Slot joins Liverpool from Feyenoord, where his squad finished second in the Eredevise this season after winning it the year prior. His side also won the KNVB Cup this season. He was named the Eredevise manager of the year twice in his three years with the club.
Slot himself announced he would be leaving the Netherlands for Merseyside late last week prior to Feyenoord’s last match of the season. He was treated to a huge sendoff from the supporters of the Dutch club, including being serenaded to a rendition of You’ll Never Walk Alone.

There will be plenty more digital ink spilled over coming days and weeks about the man tasked with replacing the legendary Klopp. Slot will be blessed with a squad blessed with a bevy of young talent along with world class veteran stalwarts. For now, all we’ll say is Welkom Arne!
