Liverpool defender Andy Robertson has made a claim about Rangers‘ tactics in the first-half last night – telling the Echo that he thought they were ‘brave’.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s men fell to their fourth defeat in a row in the Champions League last night. The Gers were well-beaten by Liverpool and suffered a heavy 7-1 loss at the Ibrox.
Rangers did take the lead in the 17th minute through Scott Arfield but Roberto Frimino levelled things up just seven minutes later.
The sides went into half-time on level terms but the floodgates opened for Jurgen Klopp’s side during the second period.
Now, Robertson has claimed that the Scottish outfit were much-improved during the first-half in comparison to their display at Anfield last week.

Speaking to the Echo, Robertson praised Rangers for causing Liverpool problems during the opening period.
“I thought in the first-half they were brave and gave us more problems than last week and had a lot of attacking players on the pitch but when we play with that intensity it’s hard to deal with us and I think we out-ran them,” he said.
“We then started controlling the game and controlling possession and when that happens we’re a very hard team to play against.
“I think we showed that and we also showed our ruthless side as well. Every chance we got we put away.
“Obviously it’s a massive result for us and puts us in a great place in the group so now we try to build on it.”

Mohamed Salah bagged a hat-trick from the bench while Firmino grabbed his second of the night. Robertson returned to the Liverpool side after a spell on the sidelines, gaining some valuable minutes from the bench.
The Reds showed they are a class above Rangers in the second-half but Van Bronckhorst can take some encouragement from the first-half.
Rangers will have to dust themselves down and prepare for a trip to Motherwell on Sunday as they look to bounce back from a disappointing night.
