ESPN pundit Craig Burley has claimed that he’d rather have Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones in his side than Arsenal star Kai Havertz.
It has been an eventful few weeks for both Liverpool and Arsenal, hasn’t it? Jurgen Klopp’s side have climbed up to the top of the Premier League table, while the Gunners have dropped down to fourth, having won just once in their last five games. Havertz has come under a ton of criticism again recently.

Curtis Jones has had an amazing few weeks at Liverpool.
The Englishman hadn’t quite had the kind of game time that he would’ve liked, but he got an opportunity from the start against West Ham in the Carabao Cup last month, and he was outstanding in that game.
Jones has started two of Liverpool‘s last three games since and even scored against Newcastle United this week. He has been fantastic, and it’s difficult for Jurgen Klopp to take him out of the side now.
Craig Burley has had his say on Jones, and he claimed that he would rather have the £15,000-a-week (Spotrac) Liverpool midfielder in his side over Arsenal’s big-money summer signing, Kai Havertz.
He said on ESPN FC: “I think one of the differences for me is from Arsenal, who have got a big headache at the moment, is I think Liverpool have got better subs. I think when you see who – I mean they can bring on the likes of Harvey Elliott who can change games.
“We know Kai Havertz has been a big talking point, £70 million – why wouldn’t he be, I’d have Curtis Jones ahead of him because he got a goal, because he makes things happen in the middle of the park, he gets on the ball, he drives forward, he’s a homegrown player. I think that (Havertz) is a big problem for Arsenal.”

Kai Havertz proved all his critics wrong a month or so ago by playing brilliantly for Arsenal, but it looks like he is back in the firing line again.
The German is being accused by fans of slowing the game down. He isn’t as adventurous as Martin Odegaard and doesn’t possess the passing range that Granit Xhaka did either.
Many feel that is costing Arsenal on the left side of the pitch, and the likes of Gabriel Martinelli and Oleksandr Zinchenko are struggling as a result.
Havertz has proven many of his doubters wrong already – it’s time he does it all over again in Arsenal’s coming games.
