'Big dog': Harvey Elliott and Virgil van Dijk truly blown away by 19-year-old Liverpool player

Liverpool academy graduate Bobby Clark has gone from strength to strength this season, breaking into the Reds first team.

The 19-year-old, who made his Liverpool debut last season, is now clocking up fairly regular minutes for the Reds senior team.

And this week, Clark scored his first Liverpool goal, getting on the scoresheet in the Reds’ 6-1 win over Sparta Prague.

The Reds prodigy steered a low shot home on eight minutes after being set up by Mohamed Salah, who had charged down an opposition defender.

Clark then returned the favour minutes later, muscling Jaroslav Zleny off the ball 25 yards out and teeing up Salah to curl home.

After the game, Clark took to Instagram to express his delight at scoring his first senior goal for Liverpool.

“What a feeling scoring my first goal for this great club! Top support again! Into the quarters,” he wrote.

Several of his peers, including Harvey Elliott, Virgil van Dijk and Luis Diaz, all congratulated him in the comments following his maiden Reds goal.

Back in 2021, the Reds reportedly beat a host of top clubs including Bayern Munich to Clark’s signature, snapping him up from Newcastle United.

Clark is very much living up to his potential. At just 19, he’s already in double figures for Liverpool appearances and he’s looking at relative ease in the Premier League.

Who knows how far he can go in the game. It’ll certainly be exciting to see how much he develops in the coming years.
