Liverpool are top of the Premier League at the moment.
The Reds have got off to an almost perfect start this season, and if it weren’t for a very dodgy VAR decision, the Merseyside club would be unbeaten in the Premier League to this point.
Speaking on the BBC Radio Five Live Football Daily Podcast, Clinton Morrison has been discussing Liverpool’s squad composition and he’s still got some question marks around the Reds’ midfield.
Morrison says that Liverpool still need a dominant number six, and he says that the Reds’ midfield would be absolutely perfect if they had Manchester City’s Rodri sitting in that position.

Morrison spoke about the £63m man and Liverpool.
“You know what Fletch, throw this one, if Liverpool got Rodri they’d have the perfect midfield. It’s a simple as that. They miss that number six and Rodri is the best at the moment or even Declan Rice who has been outstanding at Arsenal. The best for me is Rodri at the moment,” Morrison said.
Not easy
It’s all well and good saying that Rodri would make Liverpool’s midfield perfect, but getting a player like that is not easy.
Rodri is a one-of-a-kind footballer at the moment. He’s the best holding midfielder in the league, and finding a player of that ilk isn’t easy.
Look at someone like Moises Caicedo, Liverpool thought he was the answer at £111m, but he’s been nowhere near Rodri’s level since signing for Chelsea.
Uncovering a player like this is almost impossible, and Liverpool will have to search far and wide if they are to find the right number six.
Rodri would make Liverpool’s midfield brilliant, but, unfortunately for Jurgen Klopp, he’s not going to Anfield anytime soon.
Who the Reds sign in this position remains to be seen.
