Florian Wirtz is one of the hottest young talents in Europe right now, and, as of late, there’s been some discussion about the attacker moving to Liverpool.
Of course, the Reds always have a keen eye on the Bundesliga due to Jorg Schmadtke and Jurgen Klopp’s affiliation with the German league, while the Merseyside club are also said to be tracking Bayer Leverkusen specifically due to Xabi Alonso’s brilliance in the dugout.
Therefore, Wirtz seems like a logical target for the Reds, and speaking on ESPN, Janusz Michallik has been talking up the idea of the German moving to Anfield.
Michallik reckons that Wirtz would be a hit for Liverpool, claiming that he could be another Roberto Firmino arriving from the Bundesliga and playing that deep-lying attack role.

Michallik spoke highly of the £87m youngster.
“Of course I do, who wouldn’t like him? For some of the German players it hasn’t been easy, but it’s the right profile of player, the right manager in Jurgen Klopp. The flexibility Liverpool play with would certainly benefit a player like Florian Wirtz. Those interchanging roles could benefit him. He scores, he has an eye for a pass, he’s just an incredible talent. When you look at that Liverpool midfield that lacks a bit of creativity, it’s where he would feel very comfortable,” Michallik said.
“Attacking midfield would be ideal, but if we are to believe that Mo Salah will leave he could be a player that slots in that side and has the ability to roam a little bit, he doesn’t look like Salah in terms of goalscoring, but you can play him in behind a little bit. If Roberto Firmino came in from Hoffenheim as a false nine, could you not also see Wirtz being dropped off and looking for the ball between the lines.”
Would be brilliant
If you’ve seen Wirtz play, you’ll know just how fantastic he is.
The German has it all. He’s an unreal dribbler, a fantastic creator and he has a serious eye for goal too.
Make no mistake about it, Wirtz could be the next superstar in world football, and if Liverpool get their hands on him, their attack could be set for the next decade.
This is a very exciting player, and one we hope to see playing in the Premier League before too long.
