Liverpool have a big summer ahead of them.
The Reds will be heading into this summer with a new manager and a new recruitment department in place.
The Merseyside club could look completely different next season, and new signings may define what the post-Jurgen Klopp era looks like.
Liverpool’s summer transfer plans are unclear at this point, but speaking on The Debrief, Fabrizio Romano has stated that the Reds are already working on one new signing.

Romano spoke about Liverpool’s transfer plans, claiming that they are already working on bringing in a new centre-half.
“It could be busy, I think it could be busy, a new centre-back for sure, they are working on that already. So a new centre-back and I think something in the offensive positions. I expect Liverpool to complete something like two or three signings this summer,” Romano said.
Liverpool need defensive depth
It’s promising to hear that Liverpool are already working on signing a new centre-back as they need more defensive depth.
Joel Matip is set to leave the club at the end of the season when his contract expires, while Joe Gomez, Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk have all had their fair share of injury issues in recent times.
Liverpool have some quality defenders on their books, but they don’t have the most quality depth in this position, and getting one more body through the door would be a wise idea.
Who Liverpool end up signing in this position remains to be seen, the likes of Goncalo Inacio and Tosin Adarabioyo have been linked as of late, and after Romano’s update, it sounds as though it may be worth keeping an eye on both of those players.
Liverpool are already working on a new defensive signing, and an announcement on this front could come early in the summer transfer window.
