Former Liverpool midfielder Didi Hamman has lauded the impact of new signing Ryan Gravenberch at the club.

Gravenberch signed for Liverpool in the summer in a deal worth around £34m from Bayern Munich.

The Dutchman was another midfield addition for the Reds, who’d also signed Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, before also going on to land Endo as well.

Gravenberch has settled in well and was lauded for changing the game against Man City today.

And speaking about the midfielder, Hamman is really impressed with him.

Didi Hamman praises Liverpool’s Ryan Gravenberch

Speaking to TZ, the former Red and German international had high praise for the Dutch star.

“Gravenberch is doing outstandingly so far. It’s almost unbelievable that he was barely used at Bayern under two managers,” Hamman said.

“People always used to ask me what it was like. I couldn’t say because he never played for Bayern. Now in Liverpool you can see what he can do. Gravenberch has a good physical presence, a decent finish and also a certain pace. When you see him at Liverpool you really wonder why he didn’t play a role at Bayern.

“After what had been a messed-up year for him, it was clear that he wanted to make a fresh start. From my point of view, he seems to be a good character. I can’t imagine that he allowed himself to be stuck in Munich. And now he is an integral part of a class team at Liverpool.”

Making a big impact

It can take time for new players to settle into a new club but you have to say that the way Jurgen Klopp has got his new midfielders ticking is very impressive.

Gravenberch is one of a number of players to look the business already and as mentioned above, he did change things against City today.

Klopp will be delighted with his new signing and there’s arguably more to come from Gravenberch as well.

Going into the rest of the season, you do feel the Dutchman will only go on and get better and better and that can only benefit Liverpool.
