Gary Neville has given his verdict on Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min while discussing Liverpool central defender Virgil van Dijk.
The former Manchester United defender has admitted that Son has surprised him in recent times.
So, what has Gary Neville said about Son Heung-min? Let’s take a look.
Gary Neville amazed by Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min’s revival
Well, Gary Neville was on co-commentary duty on Sky Sports for the Premier League match between Liverpool and Newcastle United at Anfield on Monday evening.
In the build-up to the match, which Jurgen Klopp’s side won, former Manchester United defender Neville was asked to give his opinion on whether Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk is back to his best.
While discussing the Dutch defender, Neville admitted that a couple of seasons ago, he thought that Tottenham Hotspur and South Korea international forward Son Heung-min was past his prime.

“I have done quite a few Liverpool games in the last month, and you get a real understanding of when players are sort of back to their top form.
“Sometimes it happens. I remember Son at Spurs a couple of seasons ago thinking, ‘Has he gone? Has his best years gone?’
“And then all of a sudden, they become revitalised, they get a new lease of life, something happens, and that’s what’s happened with Virgil van Dijk.”
My View: Son Heung-min is world class
In my opinion, Son Heung-min is one of the best forward players in the Premier League and is world class.
Son is 31 now, but the £22 million (The Guardian) star is still at his best. The South Korea international is banging in the goals for fun and is a leader in the Tottenham team. Alan Pardew rates him highly.
The forward has scored 12 goals and given five assists in 20 Premier League matches for Spurs so far this season.
Last season, Son scored 10 goals and provided six assists in 33 league starts, while in 2021-22, he found the back of the net 23 times and gave seven assists in the Premier League.
