Liverpool’s young talents are really starting to shine.
The Reds finished the Carabao Cup final on Sunday with a team of kids on the pitch, and many of those young players will be wanting to kick on after such a fantastic achievement at the weekend.
One of the Merseyside club’s brightest young stars is certainly Bobby Clark, and according to Matt Addison, speaking on The Blood Red Podcast, Clark actually could’ve left Anfield on loan in January.
Indeed, the journalist says that the teenage midfielder was the subject of a lot of interest in January from higher-end Championship and lower-end Premier League clubs, but Liverpool decided to keep hold of him.

Addison shared what he knows about Clark.
“There was a lot of interest in him in the January window, but Liverpool decided they couldn’t let him go out and get that experience and how important has that decision proven to be? He could easily have gone to a top-end Championship or a lower-end Premier League team. I can see him making a lot of appearances between now and the end of the season,” Addison said.
Maybe next season
Clark didn’t go out on loan in January, but after a bit more development between now and the end of the season, he could potentially go on loan in the summer.
Clark needs regular minutes if he is going to fulfil his potential, and there are a lot worse avenues to explore than going out on loan within the Premier League.
Of course, Clark is getting a look-in at Liverpool right now due to the immense injury crisis, but once that subsides, you’d imagine he’ll be back in the U21s, and, at this point, playing senior football is way more valuable than playing in the youth teams.
