Rio Ferdinand has lauded Liverpool starlet Harvey Elliott after he scored a stunning late winner at Crystal Palace.

Elliott came off the bench to be the hero for Liverpool after they had gone behind against Palace.

A Mo Salah equaliser gave them hope before Elliott sealed the deal to send the travelling away Reds into raptures.

Of course, Elliott has been lauded for some time after signing for just £4m from Fulham. And today, he looked to come of age with a huge moment.

And watching on for TNT Sports, former Manchester United man Rio Ferdinand admitted that Elliott is a ridiculous talent who can do it all.

“He’s got ridiculous talent. We’ve seen with the [England] U21s he looks like a cut above. He gives them a different option, he can travel with the ball, can pass, can get his head up, can play people in but he can also finish as well,” Ferdinand said.

Harvey Elliott will get his time as Liverpool’s main man

In a team that is awash with talent like Liverpool, there’ll always be a need for certain players to be patient and Harvey Elliott is having to be just that.

However, he seems to be seizing his chances more and more and this today was a shining example of what he can bring to the table.

Elliott oozes class with the ball and as Ferdinand says, he has so many attributes as a midfield player.

Liverpool have got themselves a real gem and they know it. Over time, Elliott will only get better and he’ll end up being a key first-team player for Liverpool for some time.
