The Toffees, meanwhile, had a Conor Coady goal ruled offside by VAR, while Neal Maupay missed a glaring opportunity.
Pickford won the Man of the Match award, but Alisson Becker also impressed for his side on the day.
Numerous media outlets praised the 29-year-old for his efforts.
The Liverpool Echo gave Alisson 8 out of 10.
“Made routine stop from Gordon but superb to stand tall and deny Maupay after Everton counter second half and later turn over deflected McNeil shot,” they wrote.
Meanwhile, Liverpool World opted for 7 out of 10.
“Called into action once in the first half when keeping out Anthony Gordon’s well-struck shot,” they wrote. “Then made a decent stop from Maupay in the second period.
