A reigning title winner has now admitted he supports Liverpool and would be open to joining the Reds.

It comes amid a report which states that the feeling is mutual, with Liverpool actually monitoring the defender as Michael Edwards gets to work in his new CEO of Football role.

David Hancko admits he supports Liverpool

Well, Feyenoord No.33 David Hancko has now revealed he supports Liverpool, and said “why not” when asked if he would ever more to Anfield.

The Slovakia international told Aktuality: “It all started with the Istanbul Champions League final in 2005, which my parents allowed me to watch until the end, and I didn’t have to go to bed even when extra time was going on. And then came Martin Skrtel.

“I have been a Liverpool fan ever since. I follow the English Premier League the most, so that is my dream. My role model has always been David Beckham, but I feel most for Liverpool, but so far nothing is happening. Because of my new contract it won’t be easy. If there is a possibility and it is good for us, why not?”

It comes after Graeme Bailey revealed that Liverpool are keeping tabs on the Slovakian as the Reds aims to sign a new central defender this summer – Chelsea No.26 Levi Colwill is also on the radar.

In regards to Hancko’s new contract – which he mentions – the defender is tied to Feyenoord until July 2028.

Who is David Hancko?

Feyenoord signed Hancko from Sparta Prague for a bargain €8.3m (£7m) sum back in 2022, and he has proven to be an outstanding addition for the Dutch side.

The left footed 26-year-old helped Feyenoord win the Eredivisie title last season, making 50 appearances across all competitions as he scored four goals and provided five assists.

Hancko has been a key man yet again this term, scoring three goals while assisting a further three in 39 outings.
