After an excellent away win at Burnley yesterday, Liverpool fans will have been delighted to see Diogo Jota make a goal-scoring return.
The forward has been missing with an injury over the last month or so but made a timely return to Jurgen Klopp’s side to help secure three points.
Darwin Nunez opened the scoring with a delicately placed strike, something he needs to do more often in a Liverpool shirt.
But with Mohamed Salah soon to leave for the African Cup of Nations, it bodes well for Liverpool to have their other forwards firing.
Both Jota and Nunez will need to step up alongside the likes of Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz whilst the talismanic Egyptian is away.
That being said, it was a forward Liverpool have often been linked with that was admiring their display yesterday.
Following his goal and return for Liverpool against Burnley, Diogo Jota posted a collection of photos on Instagram with the caption: “What a feeling.”
A ton of his Liverpool teammates replied with support, however it was Pedro Neto’s reply that may have caught the attention of fans.
Liverpool linked Pedro Neto was very impressed with Diogo Jota against Burnley
Klopp’s side have often been linked with £70m Neto of late, a move that would strengthen Liverpool’s options even further.
And in response to Jota’s post, Neto replied saying: “Nunca vi Diogo” which roughly translates to ‘I never saw Diogo.”

Although, Jota’s display for Liverpool against Burnley perhaps proved as a reminder that Liverpool don’t urgently need a new forward.
It seems plans are already being put in place for Mohamed Salah’s eventual departure from the club – one Liverpool fans will hope is not any time soon.
As well as Pedro Neto, Bayern Munich’s Leroy Sane and Juventus’ Federico Chiesa are two other names who have been linked in the past.
But with Salah still performing so well for the club and still looking so content, that may be an issue for another day.
And it seems that Liverpool may now be targeting a defensive addition for January instead.
