Liverpool are set for a major overhaul in both the dugout and in the offices this summer.
Reds manager Jurgen Klopp and his staff will be leaving Anfield in the summer, and sporting director Jorg Schmadtke is also set to depart the club.
Not only do Liverpool need to find a new manager and coaches, but also an individual to oversee transfers. Apparently, they have a big target in mind.
The Daily Mail recently reported that Liverpool could now make a move to appoint West Ham United‘s Tim Steidten as their new sporting director.

This is because the duo worked together previously at the Bundesliga club.
“Perhaps Moyes staying adds credence to why Steidten might be more likely to leave West Ham and go to Liverpool right now,” wrote Jones.
“But I think we also have to weigh in that Liverpool are one of the biggest clubs you could ever be involved in, and it is extremely difficult to say no to them if they do come knocking.
“I don’t know enough about Steidten and Alonso’s relationship. But from afar, you would see they’ve both worked at Leverkusen, understand a similar philosophy, and have been working from the same book.
“So, there are reasons to believe they can work together and might even be very open to it.”
Liverpool target Tim Steidten boasts ‘strong track record’
Steidten only joined the Londoners last year, arriving with a “strong track record“, and has gone on to add to this impressive record over the past nine months.
The 44-year-old oversaw Declan Rice’s £100million transfer to Arsenal and moved to make sure that the midfielder wasn’t missed too much.
West Ham went on to sign the likes of James Ward-Prowse, Mohammed Kudus and Edson Alvarez, all of which have been great in claret and blue.
This was the case despite Steidten reportedly having a fractious relationship with head coach David Moyes during the 2023 summer transfer window.
According to The Guardian, the pair disagreed on the type of signings the club should make.
